where
THE LOUIES began
How it all began..
The Louies grew out of the ashes of the original Louie Louie a cafe/bar/restaurant hybrid on Walworth Road, South London opened in conjunction with Hanne Cole of caterers Butch Salads & designer Jack Wilkinson.
With the name a nod to the Kingsmen’s cult classic song and its joyful, rebellious energy. the vision was simple: to create a warm, welcoming neighbourhood space that celebrated food as a connector of people in a stylish environment. Their mix of honest food & drink and a constantly changing lineup of evening resident chefs made Louie Louie a local favourite.
As the project evolved, the name transformed too. From Louie Louie came The Louies: a natural progression that carried forward the same heart and soul, while opening the door to new ideas, new flavours, and new ways of gathering.
Today, The Louies is a celebration of food culture, rooted in community, creativity, and the joy of sharing. Every loaf, every plate, every gathering carries with it the spirit of where it all began.
